- Divided into two different regions: Highland and Lowland
- Highland
- rugged hills, mountains, valleys and Plains
- In many of the Highland region one can see the Pennine Mountains that extend down into Northern England and down onto the southwestern peninsula.
- West of the Pennine's lies the Cumbrian Mountains. These mountains expands with old worn rocks, which have been worn away by glaciers.
- Throughout the highland region there are many lakes and natural parks. This area brings in many tourist year round and is a beautiful place to vacation.
- Along the southwest peninsula of the highland region there is the an area known as West Country. The peninsula juts out into the Atlantic Ocean and contains the countries of Cornwall and Devon. There you can find the plateaus of Dartmoor and Exmoor. This are is very rough and attracts lots of tourist because of the beautiful scenic routes.
- Lowland
- The lowlands are very sunny and have less rainfall than the highlands.
- Most of the English population lives throughout the lowland region because it is less hilly and the land is very fertile.
- The most accessible and liveable land are the eastern part of the region. This section is very flat and many people live here.
- East Anglia is the flattest land in England. Here the inlet of Wash can be found on the northern coast. This land used to be very swampy, however they have drained it out and it is now able to be lived on.
